The City of Kyle has officially started construction on the Plum Creek Golf Course Sewer Line Project, which includes the installation of approximately 8,200 feet of sanitary sewer line. This new line will connect the existing sewer system near the Anthem segment of the golf course to a tie-in point south of FM 1626, along the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) right-of-way.

Project Timeline & Updates:

  • May 22, 2024: City Council approved Task Order 1, Amendment 3 with HDR Engineering to provide final design plans, bidding services, real estate coordination, and construction services.
  • March 26, 2025: The City received 13 construction bids ranging from $3.87 million to $7.82 million.
  • Skyblue Utilities, Inc. submitted the lowest bid at $3,871,451.00.
  • May 23, 2025: The City issued a Notice to Proceed to Skyblue Utilities, Inc.
  • June 13, 2025: Construction officially began with erosion control measures and brush clearing along the proposed pipeline route.

Project Budget:

  • Construction Contract: $3,871,451.00
  • 5% Contingency: $193,572.55
  • Total Not-to-Exceed Amount: $4,065,023.55
